| Welcome to Dr. Jörn Günther Rare Books |
– a leading dealership in illuminated manuscripts, miniatures and early printed books of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance with an in-house research team.
Our aim is to maintain a comprehensive stock of medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, miniatures, incunables and early printings of museum quality, illustrating the historical range of book art.
Next to religious books like bibles, books of hours and other liturgical texts, our inventory includes philosophical and historical works, vernacular courtly and popular literature as well as scientific treatises and early travel accounts in manuscript and print. Quite consistently, we are able to present books that were illuminated or illustrated by important artists like Jean Colombe, Simon Bening, Albrecht Durer and others.
