Discoveries from the Past

This brochure features, among others, a Prayerbook for the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, made in in the Southern Netherlands in circa 1517. It was later presented by Charles to the Swiss cardinal and papal legate Matthias Schinner, who secured his election to emperorship in 1519.
